Colchester United U21s travel to Watford in the next instalment of the Professional Development League this evening while the U18s travel to New Salamis in the first round of the FA Youth Cup.
Colchester United U21s currently sit 9th in the Professional Development League South, they’re coming into this game off the back of a 4-1 loss to a very strong Cardiff side consisting of a number of first team players.
The score line doesn’t tell the whole story as the U’s settled into the game in the second half and a fantastic header from Donell Thomas gave the young team something to cheer about before the home team extended their advantage and saw out the game.
The U’s are five games without a win and will look to fix that against Watford who are sitting bottom of the league, picking up just three points in the ten games played so far this season.
The U’s have a game in hand on QPR, the team above them in the table, and a win tomorrow will mean they leapfrog the R’s and close in on Charlton in seventh.
The U18s travel to London side New Salamis in the first round of the FA Youth Cup where they will be hoping to get through to the next round. The Young U’s will be looking to bounce back after a loss in the U18 Professional Development League to Cardiff City. The side will be desperate for a win after not winning in five games.
