Tom Nield is the man in the middle for Saturday’s game against Doncaster Rovers, this will be the second time that Nield is officiating a U’s game this season, but the first time being the on field referee.
So far in this campaign, Nield has been the referee fourteen times and he’s handed out thirty-four yellow cards and zero red cards. He works in League One and Two and has covered games in the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Papa Johns Trophy.
Last season he was the referee twenty-eight times, he handed out 112 yellow cards and only three red cards across the whole season, he was the referee for our 3-1 victory over Exeter in November and once again did his work in League One and Two, the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Papa Johns Trophy.
Assistant – Samuel Ogles
Ogles has been the assistant thirteen times so far this season, the referee has managed to cover almost every competition possible, he’s assisted in games in the Championship, League One, League Two, the Papa Johns Trophy, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.
Last season he was the assistant twenty-five times in all of the competitions previously mentioned.
Assistant – Daniel Bonneywell
Bonneywell has also been the assistant in thirteen games this season, he covers League One and Two and has been involved in the Carabao Cup and the Papa Johns Trophy.
Last season Bonneywell was the assistant for nineteen matches, he was involved League One, League Two, the Papa Johns Trophy, FA Cup and the Premier League Two Division One.
Fourth Official – Sam Purkiss
Sam Purkiss was the on field referee for Colchester’s Carabao Cup first round win over Ipswich at the start of the season and he will be the fourth official for tomorrows match.
