Colchester United's U18s have lost 6-1 against Queens Park Rangers.
Katalay put the U's ahead in the opening stages of the game on Saturday, but that was as good as it got at the weekend for Elliott Ward's youngsters.
Both the QPR centre halves scored from corners to put the hosts ahead, and Rangers then scored three more before the half-time break.
The second half was a much tighter affair, but there was a sixth for QPR near the end of the game, inflicting a heavy defeat on the U's.
The U's youngsters won't be able to reflect for too long on the loss, with games against West Ham, (A), on Tuesday and Swansea, (Maldon), on Saturday.
