Kaan Bennett has joined Needham Market FC on an initial one-month loan deal.
Bennett has linked up with the Southern League Premier side initially for a month in a bid to add more First Team experience to his footballing CV.
The eighteen-year-old forward has been a regular for the under 18s and under 21s over the last couple of seasons, making his First Team debut on the closing day of the 2021/22 season.
Kaan signed in time to make his debut for the Marketmen on Saturday afternoon, coming on as a substitute in their 1-0 FA Trophy defeat to Stourbridge.
U’s Director of Football Tony Humes said the move suited all parties: “Kaan will benefit from playing competitive First Team football at Needham Market. He’s been a regular in the youth teams so it was time for him to play some competitive games and get a taste of mens’ football.
“The aim is that he will be able to bring that experience back to Colchester with him and get some more game time in the First Team here.”
