Premier League Trophy Tour

PL Trophy at Colchester Academy High School

20 September 2022

The Premier League kicked off the celebration of its 30th anniversary on 8th August in Manchester when the Premier League Trophy began its seven-week tour of England and Wales.

The League’s all-time leading scorer Alan Shearer saw off the Trophy as it visited Premier League, EFL, non-league and women’s clubs who have benefited from Premier League investment.

On Friday 26th August we were lucky enough to have our turn at Colchester Academy High School.

All clubs were asked to nominate a Community Champion. After long discussions, we are proud to confirm Nel Smith (pictured below) as our Community Champion. Nel has been volunteering for Colchester United FITC for a few years now, and has helped to support CUFITC in creating a positive journey for all participants across many different programmes.

Activate Camp Supervisor, Danny Hunt added “Being part of the PL Trophy Tour at our Colchester Academy Activate Camp was a fantastic experience to round off a successful 5 weeks of delivery.  All participants thoroughly enjoyed the day and built a long-lasting memory.  As a club we were so thrilled to be part of the PL Trophy Tour.  A big thanks to the Premier League for organising.”
