Colchester United Head Coach Ben Garner has spoken ahead of Saturday’s match against Salford.
The U’s take the long trip up to Manchester this weekend as they prepare to take on Salford City. The side is going into this game following a fantastic 4-0 victory over Crewe Alexandra and will be keen to push on and keep the good form going.
The U’s boss has given his thoughts ahead of a tough game at Salford City, as he reflects on good recent form and the U’s picking up vital points.
“That’s very much the aim, we had a run of draws that was good in some ways but frustrating in others, and to get that win in such a comprehensive manner on Monday was fantastic and as you said we want that momentum now, we want that form moving forward so it’s a big push into the weekend and we’ll try and follow it up with another win.
“From my period coming in, obviously, I watched the Bradford game which we didn’t deserve to lose, should have taken at least a point there under Ross, did really well in the game, a narrow defeat to Stockport and then the four draws. We probably could’ve won all of those games and then we followed it up with a really strong result on Monday. So there hasn’t been much wrong, it’s been fine margins, there’s been the odd goal here and there, the odd goal here and there. It was a more complete performance on Monday which was encouraging, as I say, we want to build on that now, have a really strong finish to the season and start setting some sights on next season and try to target the top end of the division.”
