Colchester United Head Coach, Ben Garner has spoken ahead of the U’s penultimate home game of the season, against Sutton United.
The U’s boss has explained that the whole squad are completely focussed on winning on Saturday and are not worried about what’s going on elsewhere.
Garner has also spoken about Tuesday’s performance against Crawley Town and has explained why he felt the second half was so much better than the first half.
“We want to focus on us and our performances and not worry about what’s going on around us, we want to perform well and get that win, we know it guarantees safety, it also keeps the momentum that we’ve got and it also helps us develop a winning culture as we go into next season, we’re very much focussed on ourselves and preparing right for Sutton and it would be nice to win in front of the home fans on Saturday.
“Obviously Crawley play up at Hartlepool so someone’s got to drop points, but we can’t be concerned with that. We need to just focus on us and we’re trying to set standards that we want, the performance levels that we want and we’ve done a lot of good things over the last few weeks. We’ve become hard to beat, there’s been a lot of clean sheets and a really good second half performance on Tuesday that we now want to build on and follow on from.
