Gene Kennedy has joined Braintree Town on loan.
The young midfielder will spend the next month at Cressing Road, hoping to get as much game time as possible.
He is back fit now after injury, and will be looking to help former U's youngster Angelo Harrop's side continue their promotion push in the National League South.
Kennedy made his debut for the U's in the Carabao Cup in August 2021, coming on for Cole Skuse at St Andrews against Championship side Birmingham City.
The nineteen year old went on to make a handful of starts for the U's over the course of last season, but appearances this time round have been restricted due to injury.
He made his Iron debut on Tuesday night, playing just over an hour in the 3-2 win over Dulwich Hamlet.
