First team youngsters enrich the football college programme experience
Colchester United duo Al-Amin Kazeem and Marley Marshall-Miranda have been supporting the Colchester United Community Foundation Football College programme in partnership with Thurstable School, Tiptree this season. In their role as the Football College Programme Community Ambassadors they’ve been regularly attending to support staff in enriching the programme for students.
Colchester United Community Foundation Football College currently supports 42 students, providing a full time football experience, alongside students A Level and BTEC studies. Al-Amin and Marley have been supporting training sessions when available, delivering workshops on their own career progression and elements of their game such as gym and nutrition.
Al Amin Kazeem shared; “It’s great to have the opportunity to come down and work with the lads on the college programme. We hope sharing our experiences in workshops and at training can inspire these youngsters to push and challenge themselves to be better players and people on and off the pitch.”
Isaac Berry, Lead Coach of the Football College Programme responded; “To have both Al-Amin and Marley into the college to support and enrich the student’s experience is very much appreciated. The students have reacted really positively to their visits to training and involvement in workshops and we hope to continue this partnership for the rest of the season and beyond.”
Recruitment for the 2023/24 season is well underway with trial training sessions and fixtures taking place for potential students for the new academic year.
Our next recruitment training session for Year 11 and 12 students is scheduled for Wednesday 15th February (4-6pm) @ Shrub End Community Centre, Colchester, CO2 9BG
