U's Snap Up Hall

Vale defender added to squad

7 January 2023

Colchester United have signed Connor Hall for an undisclosed fee from Port Vale.

The twenty nine year old has put pen to paper on a two and a half year contract at the U's, subject of course to approval by the relevent bodies.

Hall has been a regular in the Port Vale side that sit in the top half of League One this season, just a few points outside the Play-Off positions.

He was also a mainstay of the Valiants' successful team in the second half of last season, following his January transfer window move to the Potteries from Harrogate.

Twenty seven appearances were made between January and May, including being a starter in all three matches as Port Vale won promotion via the League Two Play-Offs.

That made it a hat-trick of Wembley wins for Hall, having won there twice for Harrogate in the previous two years.

He guided them to a National League Play-Off Final win in the summer of 2020, before helping his side beat Concord in the delayed FA Trophy Final a year later.

He started his football career much closer to north Essex though, playing for Bury Town in Suffolk for four years.

Spells at Biggleswade and Brackley followed, before his move to Harrogate in the summer of 2019.

Connor will take squad number twenty nine.
