Al-Amin Kazeem was handed his first start since January against Leyton Orient last weekend in the 2-2 draw against Leyton Orient.

The young defender was drafted back into the side with Connor Wood unavailable to play against his parent club, and put in a solid sixty minutes for the side as they picked up a point on the road.

And having some time out of the side has helped Al-Amin focus on his performance and trying to force his way back into the Head Coach’s plans.

“My hard work and dedication while I wasn’t in the squad really helped me develop as a player and as a person, especially knowing that it’s never going to be easy being in professional football. There’s always going to be competition for places, so I need to be patient, work hard and keep grinding.

“The new gaffer’s come in and hadn’t really seen a lot of me. So I’ve needed to wait my time, work hard and show him what I have in training to hopefully get my chance, which I did on Saturday.

“The team played really well, and a lot of others would have crumbled when we went 2-0 down towards the last ten or fifteen minutes of the game. But we knew what we went there to do, and we were resilient.

“But it’s great to play with our fans behind us for the next couple of weeks. Their energy transfers into us and when we play, we can get the togetherness in the stadium.
