Colchester United’s U18s will go up against Peterborough United tomorrow morning (11am, Tuesday 14th March) for a spot in the Professional Development League Cup final.
Elliott Ward’s side have had to wait for their chance to go up against the Posh in the Semi-Final tie after the original fixture fell foul to the adverse weather conditions at the weekend.
The U’s have successfully navigated their way to this stage in the tournament after topping their group earlier in the season.
Finishing above Luton Town on goal difference, the U’s picked up points against Oxford United and Watford’s youngsters to progress to the knockout stages.
A Quarter-Final tie at home to Blackpool saw the youngsters claim a narrow 1-0 victory at Maldon & Tiptree just over a month ago, with Samson Uwandu netting the winner.
And now the U’s will be hoping to make the final where they will take on either Birmingham City or Bristol City – should they beat Peterborough United on Tuesday.
