Alex Newby has signed on loan for Altrincham.
The twenty seven year old will be with the National League club until January, and is expected to be involved in Saturday's game against Ebbsfleet, subject to the usual contract approvals.
Newby joined the U's from Rochdale on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, after making over eighty appearances for Dale in his two seasons there.
Last season saw him regularly in the U's line-up, making a total of thirty six appearances.
