Post Deadline Day deal done for Irish International

Colchester United have signed Irish International Cameron McGeehan.

McGeehan returns to the UK to sign a year's contract for the U's, subect to the usual approvals and international clearance), having spent the last three years at KV Oostende.

The twenty eight year old started his football journey at Fulham's Academy, before Chelsea paid a five figure fee for him at the age of ten.

In 2011, he signed for Norwich, and captained the Canaries' youngsters as they won the 2012/13 FA Youth Cup, with Cameron scoring in both legs of the final.

Loan spells at Luton and Cambridge followed, before a permanent move to Kenilworth Road in the summer of 2015.

Two years later, he was snapped up by Championship side Barnsley for an undisclosed fee, before heading  to the Belgian top flight for the past three years.

On the international front, McGeehan has represented Northern Ireland at U17, U19s and U21s levels, and made his senior debut in March this year.
