Sunny Singh Gill is the man in the middle for the U’s EFL Trophy tie against Tottenham U21s on Tuesday evening.
The game between the U’s and Spurs youngsters will be Gill’s ninth of the new season, with his other matches coming across the lower two divisions of the EFL, and in cup competitions.
Gill’s last game involving Colchester came last season when he refereed the U’s slender defeat to Doncaster in the final away match of the campaign. In fact, Tuesday’s referee has been in charge of three Colchester matches, with the U’s being beaten 1-0 in all three.
He will be assisted by Hugh Gilroy, Andrew Aylott and George Laflin.
