Walking football is open to anyone over the age of 50, is suitable for all fitness and endurance levels and is a great way to make new friends and meet new people. Walking football is a fantastic way to improve your health and wellbeing and can help to play a role in weight loss and improvement of cardiovascular fitness. It can also help to reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases such as; heart disease or type 2 diabetes.
In addition to our regular sessions we will arrange occasional fixtures for our teams to partipate in. We already run a successful Walking Football session on a Thursday evening between 5pm-6pm at the JobServe Community Stadium and recently this group entered a tournament that took place at Portman Road against Ipswich Town FC, Norwich City FC and Cambridge United FC.

WHO? – Anyone aged over 50.
WHAT? – Walking football is a slower version of the beautiful game that allows people to play football for longer. It is a great way to get outside and exercise, making friends along the way. With no running, jogging or heading and physical contact kept to a minimum, it is a fun and safe way for players to stay or get back into football.
WHERE? – Shrub End Community and Sports Centre, Boadicea Way, Colchester, CO2 9BG. This will be on the state of the art 4G pitch.
WHEN? – Friday’s between 12pm-1pm, this session will be school term time only.
HOW MUCH? – Sessions cost £5.25 and are paid for in block payments. Any sessions missed where a participant gives at least 48 hours’ notice will be refunded off your next block payment.
