Colchester United have signed Alistair Smith on loan from League One side Lincoln City.
The twenty-four-year-old has signed until the end of the season with the U’s, subject to the loan agreement being ratified by the relevant bodies.
Ali began his youth career at Mansfield Town and enjoyed several loan spells until he eventually joined Altrincham on a permanent basis in 2021.
He then moved to Sutton United six months later, making sixty-eight league appearances across two seasons and scoring thirteen goals.
The midfielder joined Lincoln City in June 2023 and featured twenty-five times in League One, finding the back of the net once.
