Colchester United have signed Jayden Richardson loan from Aberdeen.
The twenty three year old put pen to paper on Thursday, and could feature against Bradford at the weekend, subject to the usual ratifications.
Jayden began his career at Nottingham Forest, and got valuable experience at League Two level with loan spells at both Exeter City, where he played with Matt Jay, and Forest Green Rovers.
He moved north of the border to Aberdeen in the summer of 2022, making twenty four appearances in the Scottish Premiership as the Dons finished third in the table.
Promotion chasing Stockport County took him on loan at the beginning of this season, but the U's have secured him on another loan for the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.
And Jayden is keen to get going, tellling Col U TV: "I'm unbelievably excited - it came about so quickly."
"I was on the phone yesterday so it has been a quick turnaround and I can't wait to get started."
Like a number of the current U's players, Jayden is well known to Danny and Nicky Cowley, with the duo having the right back in their sights eighteen months ago.
Jayden continued: "Before I got the move to Aberdeen, I had a conversation with them whilst they were at Portsmouth so I know all about them."
"I know what great people they are and what they can do - The energy and the feeling about them coming in here is massive so hopefully, that will help out the club as well."
