Colchester United have signed Sean Raggett.
The experienced defender has put pen to paper on a U's contract, following his departure from Rotherham United earlier this summer.
After spending his school years at Gillingham, he signed for Dover Athletic - where he first impressed Danny and Nicky Cowley.
They signed him whilst in charge of Lincoln, and Raggett will always be remembered by the Imps' supporters, not least for the winning goal he scored at Premier League side Burnley in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup.
Having joined Norwich, Raggett found it tough to break into the side at Carrow Road, but successful loans at Lincoln, Rotherham and Portsmouth saw the South Coast club take him on a free in 2020.
Pompey appointed Danny and Nicky as their management team a year later, reuniting them with Raggett, and it was at Fratton Park that he made most appearances.
He played for Portsmouth over 200 times, including his loan spell, in a four year stay before heading to another of his loan clubs Rotherham in 2024.
He was on the Rotherham released list this summer, and has been added to the U's squad to provide defensive solidity for their League Two campaign.
