On Thursday afternoon, a selection of Colchester United men’s first-team players visited Colchester United Community Foundation’s Summer Camps, both in Maldon and at Shrub End.

Jaden Williams and Max Jolliffe visited the Shrub End camp, based at Shrub End Sports & Community Centre. At Shrub End there are numerous age groups participating in the Summer Camps. Both through paid places and Activate funded places.

"I really enjoyed visiting the Summer Camps on Thursday, I think it's a great opportunity for younger kids to come and get involved. All participants were happy and enjoying themselves, so there's many reasons to come along."

Ellis Iandolo and Jack Payne visited the Maldon camp at All Saints Primary School. The Maldon camp is partly funded through Kelloggs, and their partnership with the EFL.

At both camps players joined in with coaching players and partaking in small-sided games. They were free to grab pictures and sign autographs for participants, as well as talking all things football, in small Q&A sessions.

As well as first-team players, the Shrub End camp has the visit of Eddie the Eagle on Thursday morning, who encouraged participants during the session, handed out plenty of high fives and even got involved in helping with drills.

Over the next 4 weeks Colchester United men’s first-team players will continue to visit camps. Want to get involved in our Summer Camps? We run camps across all 6 weeks of the Summer Holidays, with week 2 coming to an end. Book for any of the remaining weeks through the link below.
