Congratulations to Fred McInnes and George Longdon, who have both earned places in the Colchester United Boys Development Centre after progressing through our Skills Centre programme.
Fred joined the Skills Centre in 2025 before impressing coaches and securing his place in the Development Centre, where he has continued to develop his confidence and ability.

"The coaches know all of the boys individually, always take the time to chat to them, and make everyone feel valued from the moment they arrive until they leave. Fred is so proud to tell people that he plays for the Colchester United BDC, and we’ve really noticed how much his confidence and performances have improved when playing for his grassroots team this season. He’s also become a huge Colchester United fan and loves seeing his coaches at the first-team matches. We’re so grateful that he’s been given this opportunity and it’s lovely to see him enjoy something so much.”
George also enjoyed an excellent season at our Skills Centres, with his performances leading to a successful Development Centre trial and a place for the 2026/27 season.
