We are delighted to announce we have received £20,145 funding boost from Hiscox to support young people across the local community through a series of Employability and Skills Development Workshops.
Delivered in a supportive and encouraging environment, the programme combines classroom-based learning with practical, skills focused activity, helping participants to re-engage, build confidence and develop essential life skills.
As part of the programme, participants will also have the opportunity to work towards recognised coaching qualifications, opening up pathways into future employment, training and volunteering opportunities.
The funding comes at a crucial time, as young people across the UK continue to face significant barriers to employment and education. Recent reports from the BBC highlight that an estimated 957,000 people aged 16 to 24 were not in education, employment or training between October and December 2025, representing 12.8 percent of that age group.
We aim to provide a positive intervention by offering tailored support, practical experience and a clear pathway forward, reinforcing ongoing commitment to improving wellbeing, raising aspirations and creating opportunities for young people across Colchester and the surrounding areas.
We would like to thank Hiscox for supporting us with this important initiative.
