Over the past year, we have welcomed five former members of staff back to Colchester United Community Foundation, highlighting the organisation’s positive working environment and the lasting impact it has on those who work within it.
Returning to the Foundation are Callum Murphy, Kieran Michaels, Ben Lodge, Lucia Cooke and Magic Speedie, each rejoining the charity across a variety of roles and departments.
Callum Murphy returned in 2025 as Head of People & Programmes, having previously held the role of Senior Health & Inclusion Officer. Callum is now responsible for overseeing the Foundation’s workforce and programme development, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality provision across all areas.
Kieran Michaels rejoined in January as Head of Delivery, after previously working as a Football Development Officer. Kieran is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of delivery across our programmes, including the training and development of staff.
In April, Ben Lodge returned as a Sports Participation Officer, having previously worked as a Community Sports Coach. Ben now leads on our BDC & ADC programmes, helping to develop talent within our pathway.
Lucia Cooke also made her return last year as Finance and Support Services Officer, following her earlier role as Community Development Administrator. Her experience across multiple areas of the organisation provides vital support behind the scenes.
Completing the group is Magic Speedie, who returned in April as a PE & Sport Mentor within the Health & Inclusion Department, having previously worked as a Community Sports Coach. Magic now mentors school children, supporting their development through sport and education.
The return of five staff members within a short period reflects the strong connections built within Colchester United Community Foundation, as well as its commitment to developing and supporting its workforce.
