Bio
Harry Anderson once again linked up with Danny Cowley at Colchester United after a successful loan spell towards the end of the 2023/24 campaign. He was released by Stevenage, before signing a two-year deal to stay in North Essex in June 2024.
Harry progressed through the youth system with Peterborough United, and made a handful of appearances for Posh before his first link up with the Cowleys at Braintree on loan in 2016. Anderson would rejoin the management duo in August, this time at Lincoln City on loan – the club for which he has made most appearances.
Three spells saw the wide player gain two promotions (from the National League and League Two), as well as playing his part in the Imps’ memorable FA Cup run in 2016/17, amassing over 200 appearances and scoring thirty-three goals at Sincil Bank between 2016 and 2021.
His departure came at the end of the 2020/21 season, where he would drop back down to League Two to join recently relegated Bristol Rovers.
And Harry proved to be a mainstay in the team that would gain promotion on the final day of the campaign with the unforgettable 7-0 win over Scunthorpe United at the Memorial Ground. Anderson’s solitary season back in the fourth tier saw him collect forty-nine appearances, with six goals to his name too.
The following season he made fewer appearances, thirty, before making the switch to fellow League One side Stevenage in 2023.
An injury-hit time meant Harry was limited to just three outings for his new club, before being loaned to the U’s in January 2024. He scored his first goal for the club in the 3-3 draw with Forest Green Rovers at the JobServe Community Stadium, penning a permanent deal in North Essex at the end of the season.
During the 25/26 season, he had made record-breaking success for the club. On 4th October 2025, he scored a goal in the first and second half of the match against Chesterfield, resulting in a 6-2 win. On 18th October 2025, he scored his first-ever hat trick for the U's, dominating Harrogate Town with a 3-1 win.
“...There’s always that ambition to want to do better, but I feel like I’m in a good flow at the minute and trying to keep the momentum with the team and myself, and hopefully create more chances and more goals.”
