Jake Leake started his career through his academy development setup at Hull City, and spent his time on loan spells at non-league teams Boston United in 2021, and Scunthorpe United in 2023, to gain first-team experience.
He moved on loan to Tranmere Rovers in July 2023 for the 2023/24 season, and made his debut in League Two.
In January 2025, he joined Oldham Athletic on loan and helped secure promotion for the team from National League to League Two for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.
Following on the team’s promotion, Leake officially joined Oldham permanently on a free transfer on 30th June 2025 after his contract with Hull expired. He scored a goal against Harrogate in 21st March 2025 and another against Accrington Stanley on 2nd May, concluding the 2025/26 season with only 12 appearances.
After his contract with Oldham expired, Leake joined the U’s on 2nd July 2026.
