Bio

The experienced right back builds a strong defence against the opposition and always aims to support his team. Kane began his youth career at the Academy at Tottenham Hotspur for seven years before being released in 2014.

The right back played for Banbury United in 2014 before joining the U’s Academy for the 2014/15 season and marking his debut in August 2015

In August 2017, Kane scored his first professional goal against Forest Green Rovers resulting a 5-1 win for Colchester and the club’s “Goal of the Year” award at the annual end of season dinner. The player himself won the club’s ‘Young Player of the Year’ award.

Four seasons and 112 appearances later, he joined Ipswich Town on trial for their pre-season training camp in Spain in July 2018. He returned to Colchester for the 2018-2019 season, and played against Ipswich Town in a number of pre-season friendly fixtures.

Kane signed a new two-year contract on 6th August, making 44 appearances over the season. At the beginning of the 2019/20 season, Kane signed a four-year deal to Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee but for only two seasons and seven appearances.

During his time at Ipswich, his form earned him the PFA Fans’ League One Player of the Month award for September 2019. He earned a player’s reputation for Ipswich but unfortunately was out of action for three months due to a couple of injuries that resulted in setbacks and reduced appearances for the rest of his time at Ipswich.

On 13th July 2023, he signed on to Wycombe Wanderers for the 2023/24 season, making 17 appearances. On 10th June 2024, Kane was called up to play for the Grenada national team, which resulted in a 2-3 win over Saint Kitts and Nevi during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification.

Kane spent six months without a club for the first half the 2024/25 season, until he rejoined Colchester United on 3rd February 2025.

“Everybody starts from scratch again and you have to take each game in isolation regardless of what you’ve seen before.”
