Bio

Kien Connolly started his youth career at Barking Abbey School for Barking F.C. from July 2023 to June 2024 before joining the U’s academy in September 2024.

Trained under the U21 team, Connolly had gained vital skills and raw power to the point where he was rewarded his first professional contract in July 2024. During the 2025-26 season, his first-team experience was boosted by his two loan spells with Dagenham & Redbridge between February 2026 to June 2026.

Described as a reliable and technically gifted presence, Connolly’s contract option being triggered after ongoing discussions keeps a key component of the U21 squad intact. Like his peers, Connolly is aiming to use the 2026/27 season as a springboard toward consistent senior involvement.

In preparation for the 2026/27 season, Connolly had made appearances with the first-team in nearly all of the U’s pre-season games, including Peterborough United, West Ham United XI and Charlton Athletic.
