Milton Oni penned his first professional contract with Colchester United in the summer of 2024, having spent the previous season on loan with Maldon and Tiptree gaining first team experience.
Oni made his professional debut for the U’s in the First Round win over Reading in the Carabao Cup, stepping up to take a penalty in the shoot-out at the end of the game, making his league debut a few days later against MK Dons at the JobServe Community Stadium.
However, Oni’s debut season was cut short by injury, rupturing his ACL and tearing his medial meniscus in the Carabao Cup game against Brentford.
Milton has made some appearances during the early 25/26 season. He appeared for the full 90 minutes during the EFL Trophy match against Fullham U21 on 11th November 2025, which led to to a 2-0 win. He also appeared briefly for EFL Trophy match against West Ham United U21.
“I think it was just for me to just kind of be resilient throughout the whole thing and to just keep pushing, understanding that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel, but obviously you can’t get there without hard work…” Milton Oni, Pre Chesterfield
