Samuel Kuffour Jr. is a professional centre-back that withholds an athletic and technical background that proves his physical development in senior football. Working on loan in non-league football has made him a versatile option for a defensive midfield role when required.
He follows the footsteps of his father, and former Bayern Munich and Ghana legend, Samuel Kuffour., towards a successful stint in his football career.
His youth career began spending time in the academies of Brentford, West Ham United and the Elite Coach Academy (ECA). He also played in the Israeli team, Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
His professional senior career began at non-league level. In the 2023/24 season, he played for Cheshunt in the Isthmian League Premier Division, making 22 appearances in total. He moved to Maldon & Tiptree the following season in the Isthmian League North Division, where he scored 4 goals in 33 appearances. He became captain of the team on several occasions.
In February 2025, he signed with the U’s and he spent time back on loan at Maldon & Tiptree and Hornchurch to gain more senior experience. In 2025/26 season, he made his first-team debut for the U’s in October for the EFL Trophy competition and League Two fixtures.
On 11th November 2025, his highlight was playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Fulham U21 in the EFL Trophy competition, earning him a high match rating for his defensive performance.
