Colchester United Emerging Talent Centre is an invitation only, individual coaching programme, which sits above our CUFC Girls Development Centre. For players that have been invited to attend on a permanent basis within the Emerging Talent Centre, players will attend weekly sessions at our Colchester venue, along with fixtures versus the likes of Norwich City, West Ham United, Stevenage, Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur within half-terms and summer holidays.
We aim to develop the players technical and physical ability as well as aid their social and psychological development. Each week our coaches focus on a different topic to ensure the players are learning across the FA 4 corner model. Players are still able to train and play for their grassroots teams alongside the opportunity to represent Colchester United FC in a comprehensive fixture programme.
The ETC looks to provide a more diverse pool of England Talent. As a result, all players within our ETC will be part of the ‘Discover My Talent’ initiative. Through this, our ETC players are able to be referred into the FA’s Women’s England Talent Pathway by Colchester United staff.
Kay Cossington, the FA’s Head of Women’s Technical, said:
