A Day To Remember For Blueflame

22 July 2012

...and Plumb City are ready too!

Colchester United's unique shirt sponsorship opportunity for the 2012/13 season had its first public viewing when the U's took on West Ham in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.
As part of the club's 75th anniversary celebrations, the U's are reaching out to the local business community that has supported it throughout its history and giving companies of all sizes the chance to have the chance to see their name on the front of the first team shirt for a fixture this season.

A number of companies have got involved already, but the first company to get involved on a matchday this season were Blueflame.

Their logo appeared on the shirts of the U's players as they ran Premier League new boys West Ham close in a 2-1 defeat in front of nearly 8,000 people.

Director of Blueflame, Tony Schatten told the official website: "When we first heard about the shirt sponsorship at Colchester United we had no hesitation but to be involved.

"It gives us a great opportunity to support our local club and also provided us with a fantastic shop window to promote and raise the profile of Blue Flame to the home and away fans. I can really see this initiative by Colchester United being very popular with local businesses."

The team at Blue Flame are not the only ones to already be on board. As pre-season continues apace in the next few weeks, we are delighted to also confirm that Plumb City will be backing Colchester United in the coming months.

Plumb City will be sponsoring the Ipswich Town pre-season friendly and will also be on the front of the U's shirts for their league game against Leyton Orient once the season gets underway.
