U18s Begin Cup Journey

12 November 2013

Lapslie returns from injury lay-off.

The U's U18s begin their FA Youth Cup journey on Tuesday night, as they look to continue their exceptional start to the season.

John McGreal and Wayne Brown's side have won every game they've played this season and will aim to extend that run when they face AFC Wimbledon.

The match will see Tom Lapslie given some game time for the first time in six months as he returns from a injury lay-off that has ruled him out of any match action so far this season.

And recent first team graduates Sammie Szmodics and Macauley Bonne will be part of the team that looks to defeat Wimbledon in the First Round clash.

Both teams know that, should they make it through the First Round stage, and then beat Plymouth Argyle in Round Two, a big tie awaits against Aston Villa, so there is all to play for on Tuesday night.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm.

U's: Carroll, Andrews, Gardiner, Rogers, Clarke, O'Donoghue, Lapslie, Harrison, Szmodics, Curtis, Issa, James, Adkin, Bonne, Monk, Brampton
