Prostate Cancer riders arrive at the U's

Charity riders have made it to the U's.

Bikes and riders descended on the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Friday afternoon, taking a break from their London to Amsterdam ride for Prostate Cancer.

Representatives from all of the Football League clubs are putting the miles in, raising money for the league's charity partner.

Amongst them were former Colchester United player Perry Groves and supporter Lea Finch.

Both were happy to take a breather at the home of the U's, with Lea saying: "It's gone really well and the weather has been good."

"We have gone via the scenic route around Maldon, Great Totham and those areas, not the way I'd have picked to get to Colchester, but there's been a nice team atmosphere and it's all for a good cause."

Former U's star Groves added: "I've never been so pleased to see the Weston Homes Community Stadium as I was when we came round the last corner, it was like an Oasis."

"That's three quarters of today done now and it's for a brilliant charity that does lots of great work."
