Meet Jonkers!

19 November 2014

Local author to read to kids ahead of weekend game.

We are pleased to welcome local author Jonkers to Saturday's game against Coventry City.

He'll be in Eddie's Nest, near Main Reception, from 2pm on Saturday to read excerpts from his brand new book 'Jimpy', as well as a very special Col U poem he's written to commemorate his visit to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Jimpy is a book about the Heaties.

From sensible Boffina, to mischievous Mipper, delicate Sylva to the brave Chuffin and the lovely Tessle; and of course Jimpy himself! Heaties are tiny and live in our houses in warm places.

Not Jimpy though, he's a 'White Heatie', one in a million. He has to live in a cold place. Jimpy lives in the fridge!

On Saturday, Jonkers will tell you all about their adventures as Jimpy and his friends, with the help of Blibblington Blubbly and Squeezle Bottieburrp, battle against the evil 'Blacktooth' and her cronies.

Jonkers will be selling copies of his book at the game on Saturday - and a percentage of the proceeds will go to the Colchester United Charity Partners pot, so it's a great time to buy!

Can they defeat her? Find out more on Saturday!
