Freddie Sears has left Colchester United, bringing to an end a three year association with the club.
With fourteen goals in twenty-nine appearances this season, the former West Ham striker has unsurprisingly been attracting attention.
Ipswich Town are one of a number of clubs to have been keeping tabs on him, and have now paid an undisclosed fee for the twenty-five year old, signing until the summer of 2017.
Sears joined the U's on loan in January 2012, and made the move permanent ahead of the 2012/13 season.
In his three years in north Essex, Freddie made a total of 109 appearances and scored 36 goals.
