Scholars help out at Soccer Camp.

Colchester United's first year scholars showed they can coach as well as play, when they visited the first of our Annual Soccer Camps on Wednesday.

The boys, who have just come into the club as full time players this summer, went to Shrub End to meet the children participating in our July camp.

Jacob Partridge,
Jacob Mulryne,
Josce Syrett,
Josh Moore,
Aaron Cosgrave,
Eoin Mckeown,
Ryan Clampin,
Ross Debrick were all on hand to pass on their knowledge and encourage the children taking part.

And Dave Palmer,

"There are currently six members of the youth team who have progressed through Colchester United Football in the Community activities which underpins our development pathway, and seeing some of those players supporting the activities they attended as young players was extremely rewarding."

"Their involvement adds real value to the participants experience whilst giving the scholars an opportunity to gain insight into coaching within their local community.

Corin Haines, Community Manager at Colchester United said: "On several occasions over the last year, our youth team scholars have been actively involved in our activities supporting the team of coaches in schools, Development Centres, and holiday activities. PFA Community Liaison Executive added: "
"Colchester United are certainly leading the way within this important area of support for our younger members."

"This is an area that the PFA are very keen to develop as it gives the club's younger players more awareness of community work and provides them with opportunities to gain valuable coaching experience.

It was great to see the club's youth team players playing such an active part in the Soccer Camp. .
