Philosophy, Policies & Codes Of Conduct

5 June 2015

Our aims, rules and regulations.

Colchester United pride themselves on providing a safe, progressive and family oriented atmosphere at the club's Academy.

We aim to produce technically proficient players who progress through the development phases into professional football with Colchester United.
We will do this by creating a stimulating and challenging environment to ensure that players can take responsibility and become confident in making decisions in pressured situations within the technical, tactical, social, psychological and physical areas of football.

The style of football played will based on high-tempo possession with the emphasis on movement, quality and imagination. This will be supplemented with a strong work-ethic and tenacity when out of possession.

Combined with the desire to learn and improve at every opportunity and the hunger to be ultimately successful, the aim is to meet the football club’s objective to provide at least 50% of the first team squad.

With the strategic recruitment policy in place to identify players to embrace our youth philosophy, followed up with increased contact time delivered by passionate, qualified coaching staff, the philosophy and objectives will be sustainable for the long-term.

In line with this above philosophy, we have a range of Codes of Conduct that we are keen for families, players and coaches alike.
