Former midfielder joins Ryman League side.
Former Colchester United midfielder Kevin Watson has landed his first managerial role.
Kevin, who helped the U's to a memorable promotion to the Championship in 2005/6, has joined Maldon & Tiptree as their boss ahead of the new 2015/16 season.
He had previously had coaching experience at Luton Town and has also recently started working with the younger age groups in the Colchester United academy at Florence Park.
His move into management follows the recent switch of fellow 2005/6 promotion winner Karl Duguid to Needham Market, where he has teamed up with Kem Izzet.
