Duo Back In Frame

8 April 2016

Edwards and Garvan return

Both the experienced duo failed late fitness tests ahead of last weekend's draw against Millwall, but return to the squad this Saturday. The U's face Blackpool on Saturday, buoyed by the return of Joe Edwards and Owen Garvan.

It provides boss Kevin Keen with a selection headache in defence and midfield, with Richard Brindley and Tom Lapslie proving to be able replacements against the promotion chasing Lions.

Striker Femi Akinwande did his chances of a starting place no harm either, scoring twice in the first of the two U21s matches this week.

Keen is still without a few long term absentees, with only Alex Wynter and George Elokobi looking like they'll see any action before the end of the season.

This weekend's opponents occupy the all important fifth from bottom place, making them the target for the four teams sitting below them in the relegation zone.

U's: Parish, Barnes, Brindley, Vincent-Young, Edwards, Shorey, Harney, Eastman, Kent, Lapslie, Garvan, Gilbey, Massey, Moncur, Wright, Lee, Ambrose, Bonne, Akinwande, Porter.
