U's Draw With Leeds

18 April 2016

Late own goal earns the U's a point.

Colchester United U21s picked up an impressive point away to Leeds United in their latest away game.

The U's trailed at half time, after Jack McKay converted a penalty that he had won himself.

But they fought back and put in an impressive second half performance that earned them a creditable draw late on in the game.

JJ Wilson got down the left hand side and his cross was deflected into hiwn own net by the head of a Leeds defender to square things up.

The U's finished the game with five U18s on the pitch as the next raft of talent is blooded at this level and the young players put in a good shift against tough opposition.

There's one more game to go this season for John McGreal's men as they go to Loftus Road next Monday.
