U's Wait On Gilbey

15 April 2016

Posh next up for Keen's men.

U's: Barnes, Parish, Brindley, Edwards, Shorey, Eastman, Harney, Chambers, Kent, Gilbey, Lapslie, Garvan, Massey, Wright, Ambrose, Lee, Moncur, Porter, Bonne, Akinwande

It's too soon for him to be involved against Peterborough but it's expected that he'll be fighting for a first team place again soon.

That game saw Alex Wynter play his first football since his horrific clash of heads in the Spurs' FA Cup tie in January, and he came through sixty minutes unscathed.

Both he and Macauley Bonne were left out of the U21s squad for Thursday's defeat against Millwall, keeping them fresh for the visit of Graham Westley's side.

Youngster Femi Akinwande gets the nod as well, having recently made his first team debut for the U's.

Having been missing since the U's game against Doncaster three weeks ago, Chambers has trained this week and joins Alex in the U's squad.

Gilbey had to be replaced in the first half of the U's victory at Blackpool but has recovered in time to be named in Keen's twenty man squad this weekend.

And Kevin Keen is hoping that influential midfielder Alex Gilbey and loanee Leo Chambers will be fit to face Posh.

The U's take on Peterborough United on Saturday, looking to continue the fight for survival.
