Primary School win first stage of Kids Cup.
Whitecourt Primary School will take Colchester United's name forward in the Football League Trust Kids Cup after winning the local round at the end of January.
Twenty-six schools from in and around Essex took part in the tournament, with over 200 children from school years 5 and 6 participating at Shrub End.
Kelvedon St. Mary’s and Whitecourt Primary School (Braintree) met in the final after both remaining unbeaten in at the qualifying stages.
Whitecourt were the winners in a well matched, competitive final and, after going 1-0 down, they came back to win 2-1.
The players from all teams got to meet U's first teamer Tom Lapslie and Whitecourt will now go on to represent Colchester United at the regional finals being held at Coventry.
