Young players awarded commemorative watches.
Friday night saw Colchester United's players acknowledged with a host of Player of the Year awards at our End of Season dinner.
However, chairman Robbie Cowling had some additional presentations ahead of the main awards, as the club showed their pride in the graduation of young players into the senior side in recent seasons.
Each Academy graduate who had started a first team game in recent seasons was presented with a commemorative watch, engraved with the date of their first start for the club.
Alex Gilbey, Drey Wright, Tom Lapslie, Sammie Szmodics, Macauley Bonne, Frankie Kent, Michael O'Donoghue, Dion Sembie-Ferris, Kane Vincent-Young, Jamie Harney, Femi Akinwande, James Bransgrove, Louis Dunne and Tosin Olufemi were the first players to be awarded the watches.
It is intended that this will become a tradition in the years to come for the young players making their way at Colchester United.
