Colchester United midfielder Owen Garvan made his return to action on Monday afternoon in the U's U23s latest match.
The Irishman, who has been out of action so far this season, completed an hour at Florence Park in what proved to be a tough afternoon for the young U's.
They fell to a 5-0 reverse against a vibrant Bristol City side, in what was their first defeat in six league and cup fixtures.
Next up for Wayne Brown's side is a home game on November 21st against Millwall (WHCS, 7pm kick-off).
