Mixed Fortunes For Loanees

Two wins and two defeats for U's quintet.

George Elokobi helped Braintree to a 1-0 win away to wrexham on Saturday, to help lift the Iron out of the bottom three above Woking this weekend.

. There was a busy weekend of match action for the five Colchester players currently out on loan, with two wins and two defeats the final outcome

Meanwhile, in the Conference South, Femi Akinwande grabbed his fourth of his loan spell with Bishops Stortford, but it was merely a consolation as they fell to a 3-1 defeat against Oxford City.

Also in the Conference South, Ben Wyatt was in match action for Concord Rangers, playing a full ninety to help them to a dramatic 3-2 win against Poole Town, with the winner coming deep into injury time.


Two more young U's were in FA Trophy action on Saturday, as Needham Market took on Harrow Borough. Callum Harrison played eighty minutes and Jack Curtis 56, but they were unable to prevent Needham losing 2-1 on this occasion.
