Saturday's Band

10 February 2017

Litter of Kings come to Col U.

For every home game this season, we'll be providing you with some fantastic pre-match entertainment.

We are pleased to welcome Litter of Kings to Saturday's game against Barnet.
Pooling the best songs each had written on previous projects they set out to find a drummer of similar mind. Early 2016, in stepped Jason Chown with a hunger for imaginative rhythm to complete the sound and Litter of Kings was formed.

Their binding philosophy was that a good song is a good song no matter the style of music.

At the end of 2015, songwriters, guitarist Peter Turner and bass player Justin Lee Jones met while looking for musicians to write and perform original music.
Saturday's Music: Litter Of Kings

They quickly became a tight unit performing live around Essex and Suffolk, finding their sound and continuing to write new material.

So where does their sound sit? The mantra is it's all about the songs.

Justin writes emotional heartfelt songs which draw you in, while Peter writes escapist surreal songs that transport you to other places or other people's lives.

When Jason adds the rhythm it either changes, influences or dictates the mood and style which could include rock, blues, pop, indie or little dashes of punk & reggae.

Rather than create music to meet a style, the band allows the songs to take on a life of their own.
