U's host CPD event at City game.
Grassroots clubs from across the local area got the inside track on the Colchester United Academy when the U's hosted Manchester City U23s in the Premier League Cup.
Over 70 coaches and club volunteers were invited to the CPD event with U's Academy Manager Jon de Souza, who gave them the lowdown on the club's Academy ambitions and how it ties into the first team picture.
Ahead of kick-off, Wayne Brown took time out from his preparations for the match to explain to those in attendance how the team had prepared for the City challenge and how they were set to approach the game.
The coaches were then able to see that translate into match action, as goals from Matt Briggs and Dexter Peter sealed an impressive 2-1 victory.
