Cubs Enjoy U's Day Out

29 March 2017

Colchester North District enjoy Luton match.

Colchester United welcomed over one hundred cub scouts to the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Saturday, as we held our second Cubs Day at the home of the U's.

Cubs from Colchester North District descended on the Weston Homes to participate in a morning football tournament, before going on to watch the match against Luton Town.

Those in attendance were split into twelve teams, all named after members of the U's first team squad and it was Team Lapslie and Team Dickenson that ran out winners after two hours of keenly contested football.

The winning teams got to meet Tom and Brennan, before the duo prepared for the crunch fixture against the Hatters.

Five of the cubs got to help with matchday duties after the tournament, with a mini reporter interviewing Sammie Szmodics, a mini photographer capturing match action, as well as a mini kitman, steward and groundsman all doing their bit through the afternoon.

The two teams were welcomed onto the pitch by a cubs guard of honour and the Colchester North District packs cheered the U's onto a 2-1 victory.

We look forward to seeing them again next season!
