Drey Wright has ended his time at Colchester United, signing a two year deal at St Johnstone.
The twenty three year old progressed through the U's Academy ranks, and made his first team debut in August 2012 at Yeovil Town in a League Cup tie.
He went on to make twenty three appearances in his first season with the squad, before spending the majority of next two campaigns out of action due to injury.
Over the course of the past two seasons though, he has been a regular in the side and totalled over 140 appearances in U's colours.
A new contract offer here at the U's was made to Wright earlier in the season, but he has made the decision to continue his football career in Scotland.
Director of Football Tony Humes confirmed the news on Wednesday morning, telling the official website: "He has been with us since he was fourteen and his game has progressed and improved, and we offered him an improved two year contract here.
"His sights were set on a different challenge though and we have to respect that.
"It's always disappointing to lose players in this situation but it was Drey's decision and we wish him all the best in the future."
