Colchester United striker Luke Norris will see a surgeon on Friday to get a fuller picture on the ankle injury sustained in last week's win over Swindon.
Luke was taken off on a stretcher on Saturday but, after several days rest at home, returned to the training ground this week to rejoin the rest of the squad.
He is due to see a surgeon on Friday, and Head Coach John McGreal is hoping for positive news on the team's journey to Accrington.
"We don't want to be tempting fate, but it looks like it's more the ankle and not the Achilles, so it's relatively positive at the moment.
"Tony Flynn will take a call tomorrow when we're on our way up to the game, and from there, we will be able to put a bit of a timeline on it."
